In our society women are considered as blemish. They are contemplate by social and cultural norms. Women are restricted to so many areas e.g. education, socio-economic status, earning independently etc. Our society does not accept working women until they are poor and they have to earn for the livelihood. Very few women get chance to take part in economic activities. While, if women work in social sector it upswings many problems for them. If I search in my society I know many skilled poor women whose talent is getting waste and their talent is not exposed to world. I get chance to meet with many such women and I am going to share the story of Shazia. She used to work in fabric factory but she faced harassment and she was not feeling secure working there. She also told me she wants to expose her talent of making Pakistani cultural handicraft to the world. She also said inspite she is getting harassed at work place she still had to do the job because her husband force her, she has long and unlimited working hours.
She explained me how hard it is for such women to work outside from home and how unsafe her children are after she left her home. After listening to her problems I listed them in my dairy and started thinking how I can resolve such problems. Then I decided to discus with my friends and family to take out possible solutions. Then I realized how this problem in my community can be solved so, I planned to design an idea for such Poor women, in which I will be empowering them to work from home and they can earn their desired money. This idea is tangible for poor women in which I will be solving issues like finical crisis, working from home, forced labor issues, long term working hours and legal protection for such women along with many other problems.
While doing this whole stuff I felt many benefits such as I took risk to approach such people, I felt contentment for helping others, I realized the power of team work, I explored multi taking skills , I experienced how it is to face challenges and how to felt others situation and find solutions for them . The best part which , I experienced was getting myself exposed to community issue.And i think we should do it often , if we get to know about other miseries we get chance to help them in need.
